State Street Village

State Street Village (SSV) is the newest residence hall at IIT, and features a variety of living options. Wireless internet, phone, cable, and 24 hour security are just a few of the amenities at SSV.

  • Each building offers a lounge, laundry facilities, and a fifth-floor outdoor terrace offering panoramic views of the Chicago skyline.

Available Room Types in State Street Village

Double Suite
The SSV Double Suite is a spacious room shared by two people with a semi-private bathroom shared by the neighboring room. The double suites are fully furnished.

Single Suite
A double room occupied by one person, bathroom is shared with residents of adjoining room. This room type is only available for the MECA program. The single suites are fully furnished.

Apartment Room
The SSV apartments are only available only to VCM 6-week program guests. The apartments are available in 2, 3, or 6-bedrooms.  Each bedroom accommodates an individual with access to a shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. The apartments are fully furnished.

Guest Suite
A private room with a private bathroom or studio apartment. These are available for conference guests who wish to have overnight guests with a private accommodation. The Guest Suites rates are listed at: http://housing.iit.edu/suites.php. The Guest Suites have limited availability and can be reserved through Housing Services by emailing: guestsuites@iit.edu.

All on campus accommodations are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to capacity limits, not all room types will be available for all sessions.

Summer 2009 Room and Board Rates

The 2009 Summer Room Rates are listed per session type (either 6-week or MECA) and Board Rates are listed per week. Housing accommodation is on a first-come first-served basis.  It is strongly encouraged for students to reserve campus housing prior to June 1, 2009. Board Plans are Available!

Board plans are available for students living in the Guest Suites or Commuters by emailing Housing Services Summer Conference Staff.  All other students can sign up for meal plans when reserving summer housing in SSV. Email summerconferences@iit.edu to sign up for a summer meal plan. 

General Information about Room and Board Reservations

  • Week long rates are from Sunday (Check-in is 12:00 - 6:00 pm) to Saturday (Check out by 9:00 am).
  • Space is reserved on a "first come first served" basis.
  • VanderCook residents are required to have a meal plan.
  • To be considered for Early Registration you must register by June 1, 2009.
  • Housing accommodation is on a first-come first-served basis.  It is strongly encouraged for students to reserve campus housing prior to June 1, 2009.
  • Registration closes at 5:00 pm 10 days before the program begins.
  • Cancellations of room and board must be made 10 days prior to the start of each session for a full return. Requests made between 10 days and the start of the session will be assessed a cancelation fee of $50. Any cancellations made on or after the move in day for the session will waive the full cost of room and board.
